Looking at the rounded shape of this developing, it is quick to picture a medieval knight in shining armour on a quest to rescue the 'damsel in distress' from its tall tower protruding out of the thickly wooded hillside. In late spring there is a robust scent of wild garlic. There have been a lot of legends and ghost stories advised of Castell Coch, and it is open to the public all the 12 months round.
